Since 2021, Inspire Medical Systems, Inc. has been a dedicated supporter of the AASM Foundation, driven by a shared commitment to advancing sleep medicine education. Beyond raising awareness about obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the company is deeply invested in helping sleep medicine fellows transition seamlessly into successful careers after completing their ACGME-accredited training.

Each year, Inspire hosts a premier educational forum designed exclusively for sleep medicine fellows, offering cutting-edge insights into OSA with a focus on Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation (HNS). The forum provides a unique opportunity for fellows to connect with peers nationwide and learn from leading experts across private practice, hospital-employed, academic, and VA settings.

In February 2025, Inspire welcomed 125 sleep fellows to Minneapolis for a dynamic day of didactic sessions and hands-on training. Seven expert physicians, including an otolaryngologist, guided participants through critical topics such as:

  • Clinical Efficiency – Optimizing workflow and patient care
  • HNS Coding & Reimbursement – Navigating financial and administrative challenges
  • OSA Anatomy & Treatment Strategies – Enhancing diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making
  • Real-World Case Studies & Hands-On Learning – Bridging theory and clinical application
  • Post-Implant Patient Management – Ensuring long-term success for HNS patients

By fostering an immersive learning environment, Inspire empowers fellows to step confidently into their careers—whether in private practice or academia—while strengthening their ability to discuss and deliver advanced OSA treatments.

A Collaboration That Strengthens the Field

Inspire’s generous support enables the AASM Foundation to host the Fellow Boot Camp, an essential orientation for new fellows held alongside the annual SLEEP meeting. Created by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, this program equips incoming fellows with foundational skills, knowledge, and resources as they begin their training each July.

Through initiatives like these, Inspire demonstrates its unwavering commitment to shaping the future of sleep medicine—one fellow at a time.
