The AASM Foundation’s staff and volunteers were excited to join over 14,500 neurology “superheroes” from 110 countries and all 50 U.S. states at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting in San Diego. This year’s gathering was an incredible opportunity to expand knowledge while advancing the global mission of brain health for all.
Sleep Science Takes Center Stage
With more than 150 presenters covering 40+ abstracts and education sessions, sleep and circadian research had a strong presence at the meeting. Key session highlights included:
- Beyond Waking Up Sleeping Beauty: The Neurorecovery of Coma
- Sleep-Disordered Breathing and Neurological Disease: A Case-Based Approach
- Parasomnias and Sleep-Related Movement Disorders
- Wake Up to Daytime Sleepiness: New and Emerging Concepts in Hypersomnia Disorders
Connecting with the Sleep Medicine Community
The AASM Foundation booth was a hub of activity, where members and attendees stopped by to:
- Network with fellow sleep and neurology professionals
- Learn about fellowship opportunities in sleep medicine
Our team also enjoyed engaging in meaningful conversations about Choose Sleep resources, grant programs, and the growing importance of sleep medicine in neurology.
