The Sleep Research Program for Advancing Careers is to launch the research careers of sleep and circadian investigators. By the end of the 10-month Sleep Research Program for Advancing Careers, early career investigators will have the skills and resources necessary to successfully apply for a National Institutes of Health (NIH), Veteran Affairs (VA), AASM Foundation career development grant, or equivalent award.
This award provides matching funds to maintain ACGME-accredited sleep medicine fellowship slots at organizations at risk of losing funding. This award will provide supporting funds for a one-year sleep fellowship slot while the program works to secure funding for the subsequent year(s). Up to $65,000 per award.
The 3-day research forum is designed to aid the career development of promising young investigators in clinical and translational sleep medicine research. Successful applicants will be selected based on past research productivity and future promise in sleep medicine research. Selected attendees will be awarded a scholarship that includes travel, lodging, and food expenses paid by the AASM Foundation.
