One of the strategic goals of the AASM Foundation is to develop the careers of sleep and circadian investigators by offering award opportunities for sleep researchers at various stages of their research careers.

The AASM Foundation recently launched the application cycle for the 2019 Focused Projects Award for Junior Investigators. This award program is in its second year and has invested more than $95,000 in the research careers of junior investigators across the nation.

The Focused Projects Award for Junior Investigators is intended to advance the careers of junior sleep scientists by supporting projects across a wide variety of topics and research questions relevant to sleep medicine that align with the mission of the AASM Foundation, promote discoveries that advance the understanding of sleep for healthier lives.

This award will provide funds of up to $20,000 for one year. Research projects should address one or more important unanswered scientific questions related to sleep and/or sleep disorders.

Looking to gather pilot data for a larger grant application, conduct a small-scale research project and/or to develop a funding track record to advance your research career? If so, consider applying for the 2019 Focused Projects Award for Junior Investigators! Applications are due September 2, 2019 and award selection notifications will be sent by November 29, 2019.
