The AASM Foundation believes in the importance of growing the number of sleep clinical scientists across several diverse sleep research domains. This summer, the AASM Foundation is launching an initiative to do so through a new webinar series: Sleep Research Career Pathways: A Panel Discussion.

The series will showcase the different career pathways of various sleep researchers in the sleep science enterprise. This quarter, four panelists– Jed Black, MD, Robin Germany, MD, Jason Ong, PhD, and Sarah Nowakowski, PhD will be featured. All panelists have unique backgrounds and professions in the growing pharmaceutical, technology, and consulting industries, ensuring a variety of perspectives spanned are represented. Additionally, this webinar will be facilitated by Logan Schneider, MD.

Each panelist will provide insight into their specific career, including information on their personal path to where they are not, tips on following one’s own path, and how they contribute to understanding sleep in order to promote healthier lives. The goal of the series is to further expose early and mid-career sleep researchers to the numerous different career fields that help to achieve healthier sleep, though the webinars are open to anyone.

The first webinar of the series kicks off on July 7 at 3:00 – 4:00 pm ET on Zoom.
