This year, the AASM Foundation is proud to continue the SLEEP Travel Grant for Sleep Technologists and Advanced Practice Providers, supporting first-time attendance at the SLEEP Meeting in Seattle. This initiative, launched as part of our strategic plan to invest in people essential to the clinical practice of sleep medicine, ensures broader access to the latest research, innovation, and professional connections in our field.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Christopher R. Hope, MD, MHA, whose generous personal donation continues to make this grant possible.
Each recipient will receive a $2,000 stipend to support travel and registration expenses. The grant was created for individuals like Carolyn Lensch, RPSGT, RST, CCSH, MBA, MS, who shared:
“This grant enables me to give back—to both my patients and my institution—by bringing new knowledge, ideas, and energy to the work we do every day. It reignites the purpose that brought me to this field: helping people reclaim rest, resilience, and quality of life.”
Others shared similar sentiments:
“I’m excited to connect with other sleep professionals, learn from experts, and bring back ideas to support sleep medicine services in our community—still recovering from Hurricane Helene and wildfires. Healthy sleep is key to healing.” — Amy Hales, MSN, FNP
“Attending the conference allows me to strengthen my clinical skills and stay up to date with the latest research. I’m excited to learn, share, and be inspired by the amazing work happening in our field.” — Emily Wheeler, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC, DBSM
