Key Project Outcome
The support from the AASM Foundation has played a critical role in my academic and career development. Serving as the principal investigator in this sleep and stroke clinical trial has allowed me to develop leadership skills and has played a foundational role towards becoming an independent clinician-investigator.
This project has allowed me to lead a multidisciplinary team. The process of protocol refinement, resolution of operational issues, equipment sourcing, coordinator training, collaboration with nursing and respiratory therapy colleagues, and initiating active recruitment of subjects has been an excellent learning experience for me. I hope to carry this line of work forward and continue to explore the relationships between cerebrovascular disease and sleep disorders.
