Amount of Grant: $2,000 to be used for SLEEP 2026 travel and registration expenses.

The AASM Foundation invests in people, research, and communities to improve the sleep health of all people.

In alignment with our goal to support the career development of those entering the sleep field, the SLEEP Travel Grant for Medical Students and Residents supports attendance at the SLEEP meeting for AASM Student/Resident members who are medical students currently enrolled in an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school, or medical residents currently enrolled in an accredited residency training program.

The SLEEP Travel Grant for Medical Students and Residents provides a $2,000 grant to be used for SLEEP 2026 travel and registration expenses.

This AASM Foundation travel grant is supported by AASM Foundation general funds.

  • Individuals who are outside of the United States
  • Current AASM and AASM Foundation Board of Directors members are not eligible to apply

A review committee, appointed by the AASM Foundation Executive Committee, will evaluate and score all submitted nominations. Factors that will be taken into consideration include:

  1. Commitment to Sleep Medicine: Has the applicant demonstrated a strong and early interest to grow in the field of sleep medicine through personal experiences, educational experiences, patient care and/or professional activities?
  2. Impact on Professional Development: Does the applicant have a clear and well-thought-out plan for how attending the SLEEP meeting will enhance their skills, knowledge, network, and professional growth?

To apply for the SLEEP Travel Grant for Medical Students and Residents, you must register on AASM Foundation Online Portal. Please refer to the AASM Foundation Application User Guide for guidance on creating an account.

Step 2: Complete application

Applications must be completed and submitted through the AASM Foundation Online Portal. Instructions for required forms are available via the online submission system. Eligibility questions may need to be reviewed by a member of the AASM Foundation Executive Committee, so please allow for at least a 1-week response time for eligibility questions.
