Vishesh K. Kapur, MD, MPH

Vishesh K. Kapur, MD, MPH is Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington where he directs the Sleep Medicine Program for the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He also serves as the program director for the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program and founded the UW Medicine Sleep Center. Dr. Kapur is actively involved in scholarly pursuits in the areas of clinical epidemiology, health economics and clinical guideline development. He has previously served as an associate editor for SLEEP and JCSM and currently is on the editorial boards of JCSM and the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Kapur has previously been active in sleep medicine board exam item writing, most recently having served as Chair of the ABIM Sleep Medicine Exam Committee.
Dr. Kapur has served on the AASM Foundation Board of Directors since June 2020. He also currently serves on the AASM Board of Directors and the AASM Guidelines Advisory Panel, and previously served the AASM in several roles including the Respiratory Scoring Task Force, Standards of Practice Committee, American Sleep Medicine Foundation Executive Board member, Fellowship Training Committee, Sleep Medicine Fellowship Training Directors Council Steering Committee, Technology Evaluation Workgroup on Portable Monitoring, Sleep Apnea Definitions Task Force, Chair of the Diagnostic Testing for Adult OSA Guideline Task Force, Chair of the Insurance Policy Review Committee, and the Innovative Fellowship Model Implementation Committee.
