Nancy S. Redeker, PhD, RN

University of Connecticut School of Nursing

Dr. Redeker is a Professor of Nursing and Medicine and the Interim Associate Dean for Research in the School of Nursing at the University of Connecticut. She is also the Beatrice Renfield Term Professor of Nursing Emeritus at Yale University. Her sustained program of research, conducted over more than 30 years, addresses the role of sleep and sleep disorders among patients with or at risk for acute and chronic medical and psychiatric conditions and the effects of behavioral sleep promotion interventions in adults and children, including those suffering from health inequity.

Dr. Redeker joined the AASM Foundation Board of Directors in June 2022. She served as a grant reviewer for the AASM Foundation for several years. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) and is immediate past Chair of the Council for Advancement of Nursing Science, a signature initiative of the AAN and the national voice for nursing research. She is the Editor of Heart & Lung: The Journal of Cardiopulmonary & Acute Care and serves on the editorial boards for Sleep Medicine Reviews and the Journal of Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
