The AASM Foundation is committed to growing the pipeline of sleep scientists through its high-impact research training event, the Young Investigators Research Forum. The research forum brings together early career investigators, renowned sleep investigators and program officers from federal funding agencies. Various trainees of this research forum have successfully gone on to secure research grant funding.

The Young Investigators Research Forum 2021 will tentatively be held April 18-20, 2021 in Bethesda, Maryland. However, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this research forum may instead be held virtually over a 5-month period. The AASM Foundation is closely monitoring the impact of travel to the in-person research forum, and selected applicants will be notified if the Young Investigators Research Forum will be held in-person or virtually during award notification.

The tentative in-person and virtual Young Investigators Research Forum 2021 agendas can be found below. The program is subject to change as plans for the research forum are finalized.
