SUMMARY:SOAR and YIRF Inclusive Leadership Workshop: Session 2
DESCRIPTION:In this session\, attendees will learn various inclusive leadership traits and skills to better assist with creating inclusive environments. Attendees will discover inclusive leadership strategies by engaging in the following workshop topics: \n\nBarriers of Inclusive Leadership\nInclusion in Sleep Research\nCreating Inclusive Environments\nInclusive Action Steps (Session 2)\n\nFacilitators \nChristopher Clarke\, EdD\, MPA (he/him/his) \nPrincipal Consultant | Allen Clarke Consulting \nDr. Clarke is an experienced academic administrator with over 15 years of operational success in the public and private sectors. He is passionate about issues related to diversity\, equity and inclusion and is skilled in the areas of organizational development\, assessment\, programming\, evaluation and governance. He has been recognized as a 40 Under 40 by the Congressional Black Caucus Health Brain Trust for his leadership in the healthcare  and education industries. As an educational practitioner\, Dr. Clarke currently serves as Director in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Miami where he provides programs and services that challenge\, motivate\, and support ethnically diverse students\, faculty and staff. \n  \nKennedy Robinson\, MEd (she/her/hers) \nTraining Manager & Facilitator | Allen Clarke Consulting \nMs. Robinson is the Assistant Director of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Miami where she leads in the development of social justice trainings and initiatives\, leadership development\, student advocacy\, program development\, and advises over 30 multicultural student organizations. From the start of her career\, Ms. Robinson has created countless training programs\, strategies for inclusive communities\, and intentional programmatic approaches that increased the support and development of multicultural and diverse populations. Ms. Robinson has been able to train community organizations\, school systems\, small business and more! \n  \nKatie Sharkey\, MD\, PhD (she/her/hers) \nAssociate Dean for Gender Equity | Brown University \nDr. Sharkey is the Associate Dean for Gender Equity and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. As a sleep medicine physician scientist with dual training in internal medicine and psychiatry\, her research interests are in sleep and mood regulation\, particularly in perinatal women\, and women’s health. She leads professional development programs and advocates for policies and practices that promote the success of people who were historically excluded from academic medicine.
